Program Overview

Join the AFS Egypt Leaders for Peace Camp, a 3-day immersive experience for young adults aged 17–20 who are passionate about leadership and creating positive change. This camp is designed to help you discover your values, strengthen empathy, and develop practical leadership skills that you can apply in your community. Through interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and inspiring speakers, you’ll connect with like-minded peers, explore solutions to real-world challenges, and gain the confidence to lead with purpose, act with empathy, and make a meaningful impact in the world around you.

  • Peacebuilding & Conflict Analysis: Read root causes, map stakeholders, and apply conflict-sensitive approaches.
  • Nonviolent Communication & De-escalation: Use calm, empathetic dialogue to transform disagreements.
  • Intercultural Competence & Social Cohesion: Build skills to bridge cultural divides and strengthen inclusive community bonds.
  • Leadership for Peace & Action Planning: Translate your values into ethical advocacy and practical steps, finish with a simple monitoring plan.

  • Meals: All meals included
  • Fees: The program is partially funded by AFS Egypt, covering 75% of the total cost. Participants contribute 25% (EGP 6,000).

FAQs

The camp is open to students aged 17–20, including university students and those currently taking a gap year before starting college, who are interested in leadership, peacebuilding, and positive social change. No prior leadership or peace work experience is required.
