Accommodation
You will be placed with host families from a wide range of backgrounds and family structures. Most placements are in smaller towns or suburban and rural communities, where public transportation may be limited. You should therefore be prepared to coordinate transportation with your host family and friends.
You are expected to be open-minded, adaptable, responsible, and actively involved in family and community life. This includes helping with household chores, following family rules, maintaining good academic performance, and building meaningful connections with people around you.
The U.S. is not one experience, it is thousands of different ones. Wherever you are placed, you will have the opportunity to discover what makes your community unique.
