AFS Global STEM ACCELERATORS

Women around the world currently make up more than half of the college-educated workforce.  However, STEM fields are made up of only 28% women. Women and girls who desire to learn more about STEM often face a challenging set of circumstances in fields that are traditionally dominated by men. That’s why we have created a program dedicated to the future of women in STEM fields.

AFS Global STEM ACADEMIES

AFS Global STEM Academies, is a part of AFS Global STEM Changemakers Initiative, which combine virtual and in-person learning and gather diverse young people aged 15 to 17.5 from around the world in global cohorts. The 2022 in-person Academies are scheduled to be held in Brazil, China, India, the USA, and Belgium/UK, where scholars will collaborate on real-world case studies in each market.

USAID Scholars Activity

AFS Egypt Intercultural Educational Programs is delighted to announce the USAID Scholars Activity implemented by The American University in Cairo, and in partnership with AFS Egypt and Newton Education Services.
The program will offer scholarships to approximately 140 students in each year started the academic year 2020 – 2021 to obtain bachelor degrees at the American University in Cairo, Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, Assuit University, Mansoura University, and Zewail City of Science and Technology. This program specifically aims to support the economic, social, and environmental developmental plans in Egypt by giving special focus to the academic fields of water, energy, agriculture and nursing.
